Architects and students from all over the world visit Charleston to learn about its unique character, and twenty years ago we decided that it was essential for the only school of architecture in the state to have a program there. What started as a small undergraduate studio is now well on its’ way to a comprehensive 50-student center that includes graduate studies in collaboration with the College of Charleston, the American College of the Building Arts, and with very strong links to the profession. The Charleston program, along with other centers in Italy and Spain, contributes to the concept of a fluid campus and the globalization of programs the Clemson Architecture seeks, where every student has the opportunity for an enriching experience away from the main campus.
