The
exhibition was open all artists, media, and sizes. Numerous local,
regional and national artists were invited to participate in this
exhibition. Additionally, submissions were received from far and
wide.Nicoll curated a similar exhibition during Piccolo Spoleto
2002 that was held at Salon 45, the residence of Cindi Gasparre
and Steven Nicoll. With the same structure and criteria as the inaugural
offering, Nicoll hopes to create a space where the viewer is being
made a voyeur by the art. The intention of the show is to have a
broad diversity of participation so that the expected and unexpected
will be seen.
Curator
Steven Nicoll was born in London and has lived in Charleston since
1986. He completed a carpentry apprenticeship, receiving a London
Institute City and Guilds in Joinery and Shop Fitting. He went on
to receive a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts at Goldsmiths College
and a Masters at University of Wales, Cardiff. He enjoys the restoration
of fine houses and the decoration within them.
